Named "2006 Myrtle Beach Golf Course of the Year" by the Myrtle Beach Golf Course Owners Association, Burning Ridge is one of six clubs managed by Classic Golf Group. Formerly known as Burning Ridge East (the West has been closed), this great layout is a test for all golfers with generous landing areas off the tee and well-protected greens. Indian Wells Golf Club ~ 12.2 miles (Not Driving Distance)
Rated three stars by Golf Digest's "Best Places to Play," this challenging Gene Hamm design has water on 15 of 18 holes. There are a number of daunting holes here; however, the course is known best for the 410-yard, par-4 ninth hole, which is part of the Grand Strand's original "Dream 18." Although water is always near, the course plays more open than you'd think with room for the occasional missed drive. Designed by Thomas Walker, the former lead designer for The Gary Player Design Group, The Founder's Club is a visually stunning layout that is challenging yet enjoyable to play. With five sets of tees it allows playability for all skill levels as well as three tees rated for the ladies. Built on the same routing as the old Sea Gull course, Walker's use of mounds and waste bunkers has created an entirely different feel and level of play.
