Learn About Our Destinations

Myrtle Beach is often called the "Golf Capital of the World," and with 90 courses dotting the landscape known as the Grand Strand, there is a solid case to be made for that moniker, making Myrtle Beach golf vacations popular.

Strengthening that claim are the major events hosted by this famous South Carolina beach town. For starters, the world's largest amateur golf tournament takes place there every year in late August - the Myrtle Beach World Amateur attracts approximately 3,300 players to the area from all across the globe looking for the top courses in Myrtle Beach.

And the 22nd edition of Big Break is airing from Myrtle Beach on the Golf Chanel in the fall of 2014. And let's not forget the Hootie & The Blowfish's Monday After The Masters tournament in April.

We are associated with several of the top courses and hotels in Myrtle Beach to deliver the best value in your Myrtle Beach golf vacations. Here is a look at a few of them.

One reason we work closely with National Golf Management is that within the 23 courses they oversee along the Grand Strand, every price range and style is covered.

One of the top courses in Myrtle Beach is their Resort Club at Grande Dunes. This Roger Rulewich Group design offers a little bit of everything. Several holes have a Scottish feel, with wide fairways, directional mounding and huge, sweeping greens. Other holes require pinpoint accuracy off the tee and into the greens. Maybe the most memorable aspect of Grande Dunes is that it is positioned on a high bluff creating a spectacular view of the Intracoastal Waterway, Grande Dunes Marina and the four-diamond resort, Marina Inn at Grande Dunes.

NGM courses on the north side include Farmstead, with the only par 6 in the area, Jack Nicklaus-designed Long Bay Club, Aberdeen, River Hills and Meadowlands. Joining Grande Dunes in central Myrtle Beach are the three courses at Myrtle Beach National, including the highly rated King's North by Arnold Palmer. Other great choices in that region are Wild Wing, Arcadian Shores, Waterway Hills, the two courses at Myrtlewood, and the very first course in Myrtle Beach, Pine Lakes C.C. Among the many great NGM courses on the south side of the Grand Strand are River's Club, Pawley's Plantation, Blackmoor, Litchfield, Tradition, Willbrook Plantation and Wachesaw East, former host of an LPGA Tour event, and TPC Myrtle Beach, the only course on the Grand Strand to have earned five stars from Golf Digest.

Near the heart of Myrtle Beach on Highway 501 is the very popular Legends Golf Club. Three highly rated layouts together with the finest practice facility in the area make Legends a true golfer's delight. You need to book at least one round of golf at either the Heathland (Tom Doak design), Moorland (P.B. Dye) and Parkland courses. If you listen to the Legends Group which manages the property, it's a place you never need to leave. That's because Legends offers accommodations, restaurants and a pub right on property. Legends created the feel of a Scottish Village in which everything that you need is available and accessible. Two- and three-bedroom villas offer the comforts of home and views of the golf course.

Also managed by the Legends group are beautiful Oyster Bay in Sunset Beach, N.C., and Heritage Plantation on the south side. Both of these gems offer incredible views throughout your round and are great for Myrtle beach golf vacations.

Before he passed away a few years ago, Mike Strantz had become known as THE true artist among golf course designers. And two of his most creative works can be found side-by-side in south Myrtle Beach. Caledonia and True Blue are among the most unique designs in the region. From the moment you drive into Caledonia under a canopy created by decades-old live oaks to an old Southern plantation clubhouse, you sense you are in for one of the top courses in Myrtle Beach. The course features a variety of golf holes that you'll remember long after you've finished the challenging 18th closer. Caledonia is ranked in the top 100 public courses in America on nearly all the recognized lists. True Blue features incredible elevation changes, expansive wastelands and rolling terrain.

Barefoot Resort features four outstanding and diverse golf courses by names you'll recognize. Tom Fazio, Pete Dye, Greg Norman and Davis Love III serve up a memorable golf experience with tracks that are always in terrific condition. The Dye course is host to the Championship Round of the Myrtle Beach World Amateur. And you can't beat the convenience of the beautiful and roomy condominiums on property at Barefoot Resort. Everything you need for a complete golf vacation is right there on property.

Looking for accommodations away from the golf course? Maybe on the beach or close to the entertainment complexes for which Myrtle Beach is famous? We can deliver.

Centrally located, Kingston Plantation offers a variety of options, from the Hilton and Embassy suites on the beach, to the spacious Villas at Kingston Plantation. All are close to great restaurants and nightlife, as well as golf courses.

Sheraton Myrtle Beach is a full-service hotel located at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center and close to the famous Broadway at the Beach entertainment and dining complex. The Sheraton has onsite dining and a lively bar, and some rooms have views of the ocean, which is within walking distance.
